This large pink sculpture is a meeting place and playground, depending on one’s state of mind. It is important for me to create social spaces, so, the key words are rest and play. The object needs participants. The structure itself is made with building blocks that twist and turn, creating a varied pattern. Though made of lacquered steel, the sculpture looks soft, with rounded shapes. The object is made with a repetitive structure abruptly disrupted by new twists and turns, seemingly heading in different directions. It is a play with the notion of a one line drawing. An artistic flow turned large scale sculpture. The shapes conjure an organic architectural object, a soft modernist work: colourful drainpipes with an artistic and social function. Because it is made to be used it is a very much non-elitist project. It is supposed to be both aesthetically beautiful and useful. An abstract meeting place for everyone.
