Units of Measurements celebrates the aesthetics of minimal forms, of rhythm and repetition. Given his recent series of works, "Units of Measurement," the parallel, horizontal, single- or multi-colored stripes appear at first glance to be a minimalist wall piece structuring space. This type of work has"an Agnes Martin-like presence, both in color and grid pattern." A closer look, however, reveals that the artist has nailed a series of wooden folding rulers to the walls at regular intervals.... Indeed, Jacob Dahlgren's serially staged objects lose their original function. But through the strategy of quantity they also gain a new quality.
