This series of oil paintings is based on the varying idioms of tins. The tins have been bereft of their text and what remains is the abstract pattern, layout and colours. In their new life as paintings, the tins’ motifs are enlarged and refined. In Best Before the everyday tin becomes an abstract painting. The low-priced tins have an unexpected sensitivity of expression when they are stripped of information.
