Manifestation Paris
8/3 2026. 4 pm
15/1 - 21/2 2026
In a society where images, information and signs are constantly circulating, Manifestation 08.03.2026 proposes a concrete and symbolic relocation of the work of art into the urban space. Using Bærtling-style motifs transformed into colourful placards, participants are invited to join in a procession led by Dahlgren. The placards will become ‘mobile paintings’, paraded around the city.
Both a tribute and a reimagining, the walk will bring abstraction out of the museum to give it a joyful presence in the streets. Neither a protest nor a parade, Manifestation 08.03.2026 blurs the distinctions: Bærtling’s geometric shapes, repeated and reinterpreted collectively, evoke the visual power of a rally, but one without a political cause, where visibility becomes the message.
Abstraction becomes a shared gesture, a way of inhabiting and ‘rehumanising’ the public space. Carried together, these shapes become a common sign: a collective experience rather than a slogan, a presence rather than a political stand.
